The meadery tasting area doubles as a venue. We produce high-quality, handcrafted meads, in addition to aritourism events and related services, Standard Ridge offers unique spaces, including a working farm. This allows visitors to experience the rural lifestyle and learn about agriculture, making Thomas Ridge a top destination for eco-tourism.

Ruth Brennan
Host & Co-Founder
Ruth Brennan, has a unique international multi sector profile of leadership in start up. Ruth Brennan brings 35 years of experience in finance, accounting and management experience in wholesale, retail, manufacturing and health science industries in both private and public sectors. While operating her accounting business she has consulted several startups and growing businesses.

Griffin
Wildlife Controll
Meet our resident guard dog on duty. Griffin is a Seppala Siberian, He will bark upon your arrival for a few minutes, but once you build his trust and get a few licks he will be ready to play. Griffin is responsible for keeping our perimeter secure from wildlife intruders. His pack mentality is a huge asset to the safety of our team while out and about on the acerage.

Cam & Phyllis Hanna
Cam & Phyllis moved to Lumby from Saskatchewan in 1961. Their eldest grandson Dayton, purchased a 25 acre parcel from them in 2018 being the 3rd generation to own a piece of his great grandfathers original farm.

Standard Ridge is a family farm & meadery, owned and operated since 1961. To help sustain our farm, we rent out our meadery for private tastings and agritourism events. THE TOWN ♛
Lumby is a small community of 1,731 people, located near the edge of the Monashee Mountains, It's mainly a logging, manufacturing & agriculture community. The village is home to a network of trails along the creek beds, known collectively as the Salmon Trail. Annually, the "Lumby Days" family fair takes place in June, attracting many people from around the valley.

THE CLIMATE ☼
Lumby has a humid continental climate with hot summers days and cool nights. Spring and fall are the driest seasons, and summer and winter are the wettest seasons. Lumby is at a transition point between the semi-arid dry belt to the west and the interior rainforest to the east. Thus, both wet and dry vegetation are common in Lumby.
